Before Waxing Tips
Your hair should be 1/4 of an inch long. That’s about 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving and 4-6 weeks after waxing.
Women's skin is most sensitive near the time of your period, and waxing can be more painful than normal. I recommend scheduling a couple of days or more before or after your period. If wanted, you can still wax if you are on your period.
Lightly exfoliate the skin a day before your appointment to help get rid of dead cells to make it easier for the hair to come out.
You can take an Ibuprofen or Advil 30-45 minutes before your appointment to help reduce pain.
After Waxing Tips
In the first 24-48 hours some sensitivity, redness, or irritation in the areas that were waxed may occur. These continue to ease up the longer you continue to wax.
Do not use any products containing acid.
Avoid heated sources such as hot tubs, saunas, or very hot baths.
For your own protection always wear sunscreen, do not expose treated areas to any ultra-violet rays.
Avoid heavy exercise and sexual activity for at least 24 hours.
To minimize ingrown hairs don’t wear tight clothes for the next couple of days and exfoliate the area 48 hours after waxing.
